The Data Management Association (DAMA) Southern African chapter is a non-profit, vendor-independent, global association of technical and business professionals dedicated to advancing best practices of information and data management. It is affiliated to DAMA
International.

The DAMA community meets on a regular basis, with events published on Meetup.com. These events provides opportunities for networking and access to experts across the various DAMA knowledge areas, while enabling learning from the experience of other professionals.

Members have an option to join the DAMA SA group on LinkedIn, where recordings of data management events are shared. Access to data management resources published on the shared Google drive for DAMA SA is also available to members via this LinkedIn group.

Occasionally, members will be informed of discounts applicable to data conferences and training.

DAMA is an accepted industry standard for data management and adoption thereof facilitates good data governance at a corporate level.

There are number of membership options.
1. Individuals – R450.00 per annum
2. Corporate membership – R1000.00 per Company (does not include people – they must join as Individuals)
